In-Person Quran School
The In-Person Quran School at Al-Bushra Islamic Foundation is a structured and engaging program designed to help students build a strong, lasting connection with the Quran in a supportive and faith-centered environment. Each class runs for approximately 90 minutes and combines Quran learning with Islamic studies. The program is supervised by Sheikh Omar Al Bastami and delivered by a team of dedicated and qualified teachers, many of whom are huffadh of the Quran. Our instructors are also young and relatable, allowing them to connect with students and better understand the challenges they face in today's environment. At the beginning of each semester, students are assessed to determine their level and areas of focus. Returning students continue from where they left off, ensuring steady and consistent progress. • Beginner students focus on learning how to read the Quran, starting from letters, pronunciation, and building words. • Intermediate students develop fluency in reading directly from the Quran while being introduced to the rules of tajweed. • Advanced students focus on memorization while refining their tajweed and accuracy. All students, regardless of level, engage in memorization and regular review, with more advanced students dedicating greater time to this. After completing their individual work, students participate in a short and engaging Islamic reminder. These sessions cover topics such as tafsir, 'aqeedah, and relevant discussions that address real-life challenges and situations students encounter in school and daily life. The program is also supported by a team of passionate youth volunteers, both brothers and sisters, who assist teachers and help create a smooth, welcoming, and organized environment. These volunteers are carefully selected and trained, and they play an essential role in the success of the program. To encourage consistency and motivation, we use a reward-based system where students earn points through attendance, effort, and completing their homework. These points can be redeemed for small prizes such as snacks or saved toward larger rewards at the end of the semester. Beyond learning, our goal is to create a space where students feel a sense of belonging, where they build meaningful friendships, develop confidence, and are mentored by individuals who understand both their deen and the realities of the modern world.
Online Quran School
The Online Quran School at Al-Bushra Islamic Foundation is a structured and flexible program designed for students of all ages, children, youth, and adults, who are seeking to build a strong connection with the Quran but may not be able to attend in-person classes. Delivered live over Zoom, this program mirrors our in-person Quran school, using the same curriculum, books, and teaching approach. It provides a convenient and accessible opportunity to learn under the guidance of qualified teachers. Students are assessed at the beginning of the program to determine their level and areas of focus. Returning students continue from where they left off, ensuring steady and uninterrupted progress. • Beginner students focus on learning how to read the Quran, starting from letters, pronunciation, and building words. • Intermediate students develop fluency in reading directly from the Quran while being introduced to the rules of tajweed. • Advanced students focus on memorization while refining their tajweed and accuracy. All students, regardless of level, engage in memorization and consistent review, with more advanced students dedicating greater time to strengthening their memorization. One of the key advantages of the online program is its flexibility. Students join their session, complete their one-on-one recitation with the teacher, receive feedback and guidance, and are free to leave once their portion is complete, making it easy to fit into busy schedules. Additionally, there is a seamless transition between the online and in-person programs. Students can move between formats as needed, or even combine both, without disrupting their progress, as the curriculum and teaching structure remain consistent. Our goal is to make Quran learning accessible to everyone, while maintaining the same level of quality and structure found in our in-person programs, helping students stay connected to the Quran.
Adults Online Quran Classes
This online Quran program is designed for adults of all ages and levels who want to improve their recitation and strengthen their tajweed in a structured and supportive environment. Whether you are just beginning or looking to refine your fluency and precision, students will receive guided instruction focused on correct pronunciation, application of tajweed rules, and building confidence in recitation. Lessons are tailored to individual levels, ensuring steady and meaningful progress for every student. Classes are offered in both English and Arabic, making them accessible to a wide range of learners, and are open to both men and women.
Drop-in Tutoring
The Drop-In Academic Tutoring Program at Al-Bushra Islamic Foundation is designed to support students in their academic journey while complementing their Quran studies in a balanced and practical way. Running in parallel with our in-person Quran school, this program is ideal for students who find it challenging to balance between memorizing Quran and keeping up with schoolwork. Instead of choosing one over the other, students can benefit from both, strengthening their deen and excelling in their academics in the same environment. Our team of qualified tutors, both brothers and sisters, provide support to students in Grades 4 to 10 across core subjects including Math, English, and Science. Whether it's homework help, exam preparation, or strengthening foundational skills, students receive guidance tailored to their individual needs. This is a drop-in program, offering maximum flexibility for families. Students are free to attend and leave at any time during the session. They may come in for a quick 10-minute question or stay for a longer period to complete assignments and receive ongoing support. By creating a structured yet flexible environment, we aim to reduce stress for students and parents while helping students improve performance and stay consistent in their learning. As an added benefit, students enrolled in our Quran School receive a 15% discount, making it even easier to take advantage of both programs together.

Learn MoreUnlocking Juz' Amma
This weekly lecture series is designed to help students develop a deeper understanding of the Quran by exploring the tafsir of Juz 'Amma in a structured and engaging way. Through this journey, we will go beyond simple recitation and dive into the meanings behind the verses, studying the reasons for revelation, uncovering practical lessons for our daily lives, and strengthening our understanding of core Islamic beliefs ('aqeedah). Along the way, we will also touch on relevant fiqh rulings that arise from the verses, helping students connect knowledge with practice. The program is designed for both youth and adults, making it accessible to anyone who wants to build a meaningful relationship with the Quran and understand its message in today's context. To encourage consistency and reflection, participants will complete periodic assessments throughout the series. Those who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion in recognition of their commitment and effort.
Real Talk: Brothers-Only Youth Circle
This is a weekly online program designed to create a relaxed and open space for young brothers to discuss real-life topics through an Islamic lens. Each week, participants are invited to anonymously submit questions or topics they would like to talk about, whether it's something they experienced at school or university, challenges they're facing, or broader questions about Islam and life. The sessions are held online in a casual, conversation-based format, allowing for honest discussion, reflection, and practical guidance. The goal is to make these conversations relevant, relatable, and grounded in authentic Islamic teachings. This program is not just about learning, it's about being heard, asking questions freely, and navigating today's challenges with clarity and confidence.
